Kate Shaw founded Financial Life Planning in 2015 with a simple aim: to build a different kind of financial planning business. One that goes way beyond the transactional, and actually helps people find their way through the often confusing (and sometimes exhausting) world of financial services. She works with a small number of long-standing client families and believes firmly in meeting people where they are — no moulds, no judgement, just thoughtful, human advice.

Alongside her client work, Kate loves mentoring people who are newer to the profession or thinking about setting up on their own. Through her work with The Verve Foundation, she supports people to build businesses that reflect who they are and the lives they want, while being honest about the realities of working in financial services. She finds this work deeply rewarding and sees it as a way of giving something back to an industry that’s shaped her own career.
